Meeting called to order by Stacy Plude
with introductions.
Meeting
minutes of 11/5/2025 were emailed to
members and distributed at the meeting.
Motion to accept meeting minutes as read by Jennifer Feuerstein. 2nd by Tyler Schlitzkus.
All ayes. Motion carried.

Old Business:
Membership
Update: 67 members. GBPA Dues are due on January 31. $100 per year. Can pay online. The annual breakfast is February 4th
at Riverwalk. A motion was made by Jennifer Feuerstein that the charge per
person be $15. Seconded by Lori
Stout. All ayes. Motion carried. Andrew
Rhind and Jennifer Feuerstein are working on a card with GBPA events.
GBPA
Schedule of Events for 2025: The Christmas decorating contest decorations
will be judged on December 15 and awarded on December 16. Pictures
need to be put out on facebook, etc,
to be voted on by December 15 with the winner announced on December 16. Christmas Tree Lighting and Festival of
Lights Christmas Parade December 6th, Downtown Gladwin. The theme for the
Parade is Glow-Rious. Volunteers,
balloon handlers and sponsorships are needed for the parade. Santa will be at
Riverwalk after the parade.
Social
Media: Need volunteers to do social media.
Public
Arts Update: Meetings will convene again
after the holidays.
Sound
System: Getting quote for new poles.
Miss
Gladwin County Scholarship Program: 9
contestants, 5 from Beaverton and 4 from Gladwin.
Website: The website is up to date with current events and
photos
Chamber
Ad: The Chamber ad for the GBPA was approved.
New
Business:
Annual
Breakfast/elections: Up for a 2 year renewal: Kim Bruner, LaVel Smith, Mike Murray, Shannon
Macon, Blair McGourty, Jamie Koehn. Returning to finish second year: Jennifer Feuerstein, Stacy Plude, Lori Stout
and Tyler Schlitzkus.
City
Update: Carrie Will said the Winter
Wonderland at North Park is going well.
Kids will be painting store front windows for Christmas.
County
Updates: Karen Moore gave an update on the lakes
situations. DNR, Eagle and County are engaged in
conversation concerning the lakes. The
Gladwin County Recreation building has been turned over to the County with a
property manager being hired.
Chamber
Updates: Changes
from land line to cell phone have been completed. January 9th is the 1st
Legislative Breakfast at the Beaverton Activity Center. Speakers will be from Gladwin County. $60 for the series.
BABA
Update: The Tree Lighting is December 5th
in side BAC due to construction of the pavilion.
Business
Updates and Announcements:
Shannon from
Macon Marine said they are excited about 2026 and that the Community Band will
have a concert on December 14 at the Gladwin High School. Sheryl from Char Stonehouse said they are
starting the next level of construction soon.
Tyler from the Gladwin Record said they have had a busy holiday
season. Jennifer from Heritage Tax &
Accounting said they will be having a ribbon cutting soon. Chris from Members First Credit Union said
that interest rates are down for car loans and that 2025 was a great year. Jeremy from the Gladwin Transit spoke about
his position at the Transit as Operations and Mobility Director. Zak from Mid Michigan
spoke about classes available, that Gladwin High School is Heart Safe and
information about car seat availability.
Jamie from Hospice said the Turkey Trot on November 29th was
great. Lots of participation and
excitement. Jamie thanked the sponsors.
The Salon by Elle basket giveaway drawing is December 20th. Blair from Chic Boutique said they are having
several sales during December including Five Golden Days of Deals. Stacy from Riverwalk said that the Jingle and
Mingle event is December 6 from 10 a.m-4 p.m. Sip and Savor event in 2026 will
be in January, February and March, Riverwalk has been busy with Christmas
parties and they had a good Thanksgiving.
Lori from Council on Aging spoke about the Senior Christmas Comfort
Event and about the Emergency Food Pantry and what is provided by the
pantry. Kim from the Transit said that
ridership has increased with the cold weather.

next meeting will be Wednesday, January 7, 8 a.m. at Riverwalk Place.
